The department is of general education type. The teachers train students of all faculties of PSTU SHEI, teaching English, German, French and Italian. The students participate in the activities of the English club. Every year students defend their diploma projects in English and German languages.
Much attention is paid to raising qualification and improving pedagogical skills of the teaching staff. In 2017 the department teachers participated in Winter and Summer schools of the British Council in Ukraine in Kyiv, where vital problems of teaching English at technical universities were discussed. In December 2017 the Department took part in symposium in Kyiv, organized by the British Council.
