The European Alpbach Forum (German Europäische Forum Alpbach) is an event that takes place annually since 1945 in August and lasts three weeks in the Alpine city of Alpbach in Tyrol, Austria. The event gathers politicians, academics, business leaders and students from all areas in order to discuss and create new ideas for solving European and global problems. The forum was founded in 1945 by Otto Moldeen, an active participant of the Austrian resistance movement. More than 3000 people from 50 countries take part in the forum. Within the framework of the forum there are up to 14 seminars on various scientific disciplines. The researchers are going to attend six half-day meetings. A week of seminars provides interdisciplinary dialogue and provides an opportunity for intensive communication among experts. Plenary sessions on scientific, political and economic issues complete the program. In parallel with the main program of the forum there are various cultural events: exhibitions, concerts, lectures, contests. The European Alpbach Forum consists of a seminar week and a series of symposiums, which include tutors from some of the best European, British and American universities, Nobel laureates, EU institutions, politicians, journalists and business representatives. Seminars and symposiums are conducted on subjects related to the field of international law, politics, economics, finance, innovations in technical and exact sciences, IT, medicine, health care, energy, environment, etc.

Tetyana Gorokhova (Department of Economics of the enterprises of PSTU) has become one of the five Ukrainian winners of the annual scholarship program, which is being held to provide a unique opportunity for young people to participate in the oldest European forum – the European Alpbach Forum, which will be held from August 16 to September 1, 2017. In the picturesque village of Alpbach, Austria, where Tetiana will represent Ukraine and our University.
